Writing Waymakers’ 2021 Impact Report was a true honor. They are an Orange County nonprofit that helps people of all ages find their way through conflict and crisis to create more stability in the lives they touch. From sheltering at-risk children to supporting victims to counseling families, Waymakers provides a plethora of supportive services that make Orange County a safer and more equitable place to live.
For their 2021 Impact Report, we created a theme centered on the transformational power of their services and programs, “Turning Points of Positive & Lasting Change.” From there I wove that theme into the report’s headlines and subheadlines, and throughout the stories I wrote for each of their 5 main programs (Sheltering Children, Counseling Families, Supporting Victims, Resolving Conflicts and Educating Communities). Each story covers someone’s journey through one of their programs or a volunteer’s journey in helping the community. It was inspirational to write for such an important piece of print material that details just how harrowing their clients’ stories are, all made possible through Waymakers’ incredible contributions to the community.
