Animal Traffic is a local Portland shop that carries heritage, vintage and new apparel and accessories for men and women. I was hired to manage their daily Instagram posting and stories (writing and content creation), to monitor community engagement and write product and category descriptions for their website. I began with creating a monthly content schedule so that our team was on the same page about posting. We also strategized and executed weekly photo shoots as a team focusing on products we wanted to highlight for the next week.
When it came to writing the captions, responding to community comments and writing the product or category descriptions, I used a laid back, fun yet professional tone. Specific themes like cowboys, nature, adventure and quality-made goods were all things I infused into everything I wrote and created for Animal Traffic. As a result of streamlining their Instagram posting, stories and community engagement, our following increased by 600 over the course of the 6 months I managed their account and our engagement increased tremendously too.
